make a pipe for it

take the stock silencer from your banshee take the baffle out and stick it on there and put a K&N or any other after market filter on there but since it is a mower do a K&N the got differnt sizes

i think its located around the carb, if lawnmowers have carbs, yah i dont know much about lawnmowers either lol, i just know i can pop a wheelie on ours, but its too heavy to ride it.

look on www.howstuffworks.com they might be able to tell u some stuff about govenors

******EDIT*********

to make it faster u put in a bigger main jet, have straight pipes ,air filter ,get rid of deck, and change the pullys liek u would in a four wheeler make on realy big and one really small, and make it as light as possible, and if u wanna go crazzy u can drill holes in the thing that spins on the top of the engine which can be seen in my last picture to lighten it up alot, then take, a little computer fan the kind that are like 3 inches by 3 inches and put it in the air tube in between the air filter and carb and run it off batteries and it will act as a turbo, then if u take apart the rear end u can weld it to have posi, and if u take a really big pipe from a stove like a 90 degrre bend in it and make sure it is a 12 inch round pipe with a 90 degree bend in it weld it over the spinning thing on top of the engine that is in my last picture wene ur goin fast it will act as a hood scoop and force air into the engine from the top keeping it cool but make sure it doesnt hit the spinning thing cuz it will mess every thing up

What kind of main jets does it take? small hex or large?

coolex

you might wanna make sure you have some bends in the pipe for backpressure. These guys down the street have a ragged out go-kart, and they dont even have a pipe on it. they had an open straight pipe but i was down their talkin to them awhile back and one of them ran into somethin and it fell off, so its just open with no pipe, and it has no backpressure and it takes forever to get that thing going lol. its funny as crap though cuz that thing goes atleast 30, and they always come flying down this hill and slam the brakes and do a 360 lol (mind you, they are all 19-22y/o lmfao)

thats the flywheel. Lighter will give you a faster engine accel. I reccomend advancing the timing a few degrees. Also mill the head a little bit and re-seat the valves. This will make a big difference. Also a new exhaust will help alot. I made one out of peice of large conduit and with a o/a torch bent it down. You need slight backpressure but not much fo top-end. Just enough to keep your e-valve from burning up. You can at the end of the pipe weld on a small peice of steel covering it up about 2/3 of the way.

Also on the carb, use a ramjet system. Computer fans dont do jack. On most older kohler engines the carb is in front. Make the air filter stick up and it will grab plenty of air.

I also reccomend gusseting your front end. Especially the spindles and mounting points. They go quite easily and will mess you up bad. I have seen it firsthand. Going down th road at 30 MPH and flip end over end is not kool!

Removing the governer will help too. Not 100% remove it but use a timing light and set max RPM at around 3500RPM is possible. Thats all you really want to try.

Also if you feel real adventurous you can get a dremel or air-grinder and do some light intake and exhaust work!

Send your engine to me and she'll fly! Small engines are my forte!

on most briggs and koheler engines (thats all you want to use, specially koheler) it hooks up to the carb and flywheel and has a linkage system that doesnt let the engine get into overspeed. Some are adjustable, new ones arent.:macho

u gotta re-gear it or there will be no differnce ............. adjust the belt pulleys and weld on bigger ones
