450r or 400ex?

I am undecided about what to get, a 450r or a 400ex. I have ridden for many years and rode many different fourwheelers. I ususally ride trails in the woods, on my friends home track, and in large fields. which fourwheeler would be better for what I am using it for. I like to ride fast and go off jumps.

450r no doubt...if you get a 400 you will regret the decision until you go buy yourself a new 450r

400ex no doubt about it.. 450r's arent that great for the extra money...

The dealers have a ton of 2005 trx450r. Not as fast as the 2006 but better than the 2006 400ex. You should pick an 05 up for $5000.00 to $5200.00 NEW. The 06's are going for 6k to 6700.00
depending where you live. And good luck getting a 06 kick start...

I went from an 04 400ex to an 06 450r and its the best thing I could of done. the the way the 450r jumps and how smooth it lands is unbelivable! So get the 450 itll out jump anything! easy to control,smooth and balanced. and its So for giving on landings.

The 450r is a better quad... and always will be a better quad than the 400EX. The extra money spent is well worth it for what you are getting. For where you ride, a 400EX should not be even considered unless you are looking to pick up a cheap used one and build it into what you are looking for. This is a totally unbiased opinion. I own a modified 400EX and both an 05 and 06 450r. :macho

If you dont mind a kick start, I would get an 04-05 450R. I have a 400EX and an 06 450R. The 400EX is a trail quad that you can race, the 04-05 450R is a race quad that you can trail, and the 06 450R is a race quad. JMO
