I sent my shock out to gt thunder yestreday to have it rebuild, revalved and i asked to have it converted to zeropreload to match the front. oh by the way its a 88 250r with stock swinger and linkage. He said instead of the spring kit he would use a adjustable strut to adjust the ride height, and by going this route he could set it up for maxium travel etc. Its a custom axis shock. I did a search and mixed opinions on using them. I don't race, ride travels really hard and dunes and medium jumping. just need some help

I always heard that the are mostly for flat track racing and they break when used for mx and agressive riding, but I have no personal experience.
