It has an automatic cam chain tensioner. If it sounds like it's loose, it's time to replace it. I reccomend a heavy duty one from DID. Check out ebay.

i am having the same problem, its starting to tick. someone recommended a manual tensioner. it fits right from a street bike. let me know if youre interested. you have to replace the chain of course. DID

its somewhat difficult but gets easier if you know what ur doing. First u need to remove your vavle cover and remove the bolts on the camshaft retainers. After you get them off u need to rmove the tensioner and the cam shafts to loosen the chain but try not to let the chain drop down into the heads. Once you have that done there is 4 bolts in the head that go through the lower head and into the block. remove these and remove the head. Next you need to remove the side cover (clutch cover on the right side of the motor if your standing at the back of the bike facing forward) Remove the clutch plates and the clutch basket itself. this should leave the chain exposed on its sprocket. put the new chain on and rebuild in the reverse order. its a little time consuming but not to hard of a job.
