all you need to do is use a pair of wire cutters and cut the wire, its pretty simple. If you dont have wire cutters then you can use a pair of you moms scissors or a butter knife. That is pretty in depth on how you cut a wire, i think.

Does it actually work, and is it good for the quad?

the 04 and 05s are not set up this way to get that on them u have to buy a cdi box.

on the 06 hrc kit one of the pieces is a wiring harness that eliminates the green wire. it would do the same thing as cutting the wire.

it increases redline by 1000rpm and according to honda has a different ignition curve to work better with the hrc cam.

i did it on my 06, def gives ya more rpm, as for power no all it is is a rev limiter, no diff power curve or boost, just 1000 more rpm, it dont hurt the quad, just gives ya a lil bit more top end cuz you got a bigger rpm

IF your 06 is stock there is no need to do it . 1000 more RPMs is over the power curve no real gains.soon as you put cam in FOR SURE. then you will get your reward.:D

so who has cut it ?
do you notice any changes good or bad?

all i've done is take out the baffle, off with the air box lid and up the main to a 175(thanks Colby) and it runs awsome.

ok the first KNOWN fact is 1000 more RPM no doubt about it, BUT the hrc install booklet says it also changes the power curve but its hard to tell if it does because when i cut mine i did exhaust and intake at the same time.....
