Im currently rebuilding my 300ex motor heres the mods i plan:
Fmf megamax 2 exhaust
K&n FIlter
400ex carb
rev box
clean up port work
+1 intake valves
+1 exhaust valves
HD valve springs and retainers
Small web cam
.060 piston
new clutch

Is there any other things i should upgrade while i have this done? How fast will it be? Will it take my frieds atc250r with pipe and filter?

Thx in advance!

Those mods sound pretty good. The only thing i would change is the exhaust. If you are putting alot of money in your motor, it is worth your time to get a better exhaust. as for keeping up with the 250r, its unlikely unless you get a big bore 300, then you might be able to hang with him

I agree.. I'd reccomend the Sparks X-4 system. It loves a modified engine.

It's $100 more than the FMF MegaMax, but it's worth every penny.

The Sparks X-4, however, is cheaper than an HMF full system.

Once you're engine is built.. pay close attention to clutch slippage. You'll probably need a set of HD Clutch springs. Only like $7 or so. I needed them with my 330.

No matter how much work you do to the 300ex.. you'll never touch an ATC 250r in a straight line. You'll need a 450 to do that, and even then the 450 will need some mods (like an HRC kit).

The reason for the megamax is that it was on the quad when i got it and i dont know if its really worth it to change to a different kit. Will any of the better mufflers bolt to my current head pipe?
