i got mine and picked up the front end and it felt heavy compared to my 400ex is the claimed dry weight correct like 368 or sumthin like that pounds. I know its the heaviest of the 450s but it dosent feel 20 lbs lighter than my old 400ex which if im right had a dry weight of 380 some odd pounds.

Just picking up the front end isn't a good comparison. The 400ex is a little nose light and has a shorter swinger. The r450 has a 48" wide front end and a longer swinger. The front's gonna feel like it weighs more (leverage) even if it doesn't. Go buy 4 $5 scales and put one under each tire, and add up the totals.

Also, you most likley weren't checking the "dry weight". You probably had water in the radiator, fuel in the tank, and oil in the engine. ;)

Also remember that the LTR has that battery up front and also a radiator.

Weight is there but the front to rear bias may be more on the front end. With paddles on, this bike handles better than all my other 4 strokes. Doesn't lift the front end uncontrollably while riding aggressively or hammering it up a hill. Don't get me wrong, you can lift the front end if you want to, but for the most part you don't have to get off the gas to get the front end down to turn it.
