whats an new stem gonna do for me? what kind should i get?

I'd say get one from Lonestar Racing. If you do, I'd recommend getting a +2 or +3 length with a +1 forward placement. This should keep the steering feeling close to stock, even with bars like the CR High bend. And I'm not sure on the price, but you should be able to get it for under $400.

i wouldnt get a new stem til the stock one is bent. i havent noticed too much of a difference between them, just some are stronger than others.

A stock 400ex stem is a pretty good cheap upgrade. YOu have to cut the steering stops off of it, but if you look at all the aftermarket stems, they don't even have any, so I guess it's not that big of a deal. The 400ex stem is 2 inches taller than the 300ex.

ya thats what i use on my 300, but theres nothing there for the headlight, so you would either go without or have to custom make a bracket

I am using 400ex plastic, so I don't have to worry about the super gay 300ex headlight.
