I have the DID HD cam chain. Its still runnin strong. I picked mine up from a local pro shop for 80 bucks. Might find it cheaper on the net though?

Unless your running Hot Cams, the D.I.D. is a waste of money, the timing chain problem lies in the tensioner. Get a manual tensioner and adjust it properly and you'll have a long life out of your timing chain.

I had stock cams and ive been through two even with a well maintained tensioner.... the HD is a good chain and im runnin one in both my z-400s now. Call Norm at Fastrax Cycle @ 417-934-0065 he can do it for about 69 dollars i think

D.I.D is deffinately better than stock and will ast longer. Yes the tensioner has some to do with it and will cause it to wear prematurely. If your goin into replace the chain just go HD you'll be glad u did in the long run. To know when to tighten it is a guessing game. The stock bike is an automatic tensioner and will cause all chains to wear faster. Go with a manual tensioner off of a gsxr 1000 street bike. It mounts right up and you can manually adjust it when you hear cam noise another thing you'll be glad you did in the long run.

Well I put one on both my 03 bikes and they came off the 03 street bikes. soo im not sure how late the manuals stayed with those gsxr's but im sure one from an 03 would fit and even if thats not workin out i think if i remember right if you just search msn for "manual cam tensioners" then you come up with a fes sights that build them straight for quads.
