my 2005 400 ex is stock except for i got a 150 dyno jet and dynojet needle. my buddies got a 2000 400 ex with a white brothers slip on exhaust and it jeted. he has alot more low end torque than me. is it cause of the slip on exhaust or the jetting. my buddy told me its cause of the jetting, and i don't believe him. cause i've had a 160 jet a 155 jet a 150 jet in mine didn't see a whole lot of difference. definitly not the torque he has. i think its mostly his slip on. i not sure how many teeth he has on his sprockets. but mine is stock, which i think a 2005 is 14/38. whats your guys's opinion on this?

thats what i thought, but my other buddy says the slip on doesn't give it much horse power. i know it won't give it an outrageous amount, but enough to feel the difference between a stock quad and the piped quad :) my buddy thinks i listen to to many people on here and nothing anybody says on here is true. he's so full of ____! well you fill in the blank. lol

Its the pipe, and he might be differently geared than you. Every little touch on it adds up.

The 05 400 EX is geared much better than prior models, the pipe helps low end but you should still be much better in 1 and 2nd gear than him. I have them both and there is a HUGE diffrence in gear ratio. The 04 and prior models are geared too high in 1st and second. Get a pipe, yours will be twice as good.
