WHat is the best 400cc quad?
The Z, KFX, and DVX are all the same quad.

by far the 400ex way more reliable and easy to find parts for I like it way more than the z400
I have only ridden one z400 that I really really liked and it had a 440 big bore Axis suspension and aftermarket aarms swingarm axle pretty much everything was top of the line and I liked it:D
400ex is most reliable and you can find parts for like genius above said

i love my kfx but i ain't gonna lie. the 400ex is better because... it has proven reliablity.... bulett proof engine design... and well honda jus knows what they are doin.

i agree with the 400ex and it being reliable, but the 450r can be just as reliable, but people are not taking the time to maintain a race designed atv. the 400ex was nothing to keep going but the 450r needs the valves adjusted, new plugs, the oil changed more and a few other things that the people who are buying it just to trail ride isnt doing.
my 450r hasnt had any problems and I have a TON of hours into it. just more maintenance and such which isn't a problem for me really. sure isnt like the 400ex though where you can rag it to hell and it will run perfect :p

some of you guys have NO IDEA what your talking about. i have an 03 z400 and i put it threw hell on the trail/races and it hasnt failed me yet. i can hit the starter at any time of day and it fires right up and runs great. just as reliable as any quad. i think most of you want a quad you can run the piss out of, and put it in the garage with no maintence. doesnt exist.
as far as parts, there are just as many parts available for the z/kfx/dvx. anything you can buy for a 400ex, i would be able to get for me z400.
and for the guys that said the 450r isnt reliable are out of thier mind. my best friend and riding partner has a 450r and it runs like a champ everytime we ride. yes there are lemons out there but they are reliable if you put time and care into them.

no ones saying that the 450rs are crap but the run higher compresion, and race motors that doesnt mean there gunna break but theres more of a chance

Pretty much I love my ex..... But the z/kfx/dvx, are all still pretty good quads also..... But my vote is ex since I own one.

I agree with ltz 400ridir how liek suzukis rn't bad a stock z 400 is faster then any 400ex stock and about reliability theyrn't bad at all honda 400ex r reliable but i like working for like 30mins on a quad make sure everything is right and if u think that there is any ATV u can put in ur grauage aftr a day u r nuts cuz u r going to wreck it. take care of it and it will last my 03 z400 it mint shape u ahve to was and wipe it down every ride and it wil be fine.

but honestly how do u know about reliability u dont have ur quad yet, im not gunna say my quad is reliable bacause ive had it for like 3 days now the only reason i belive mine is reliable is beacause of brians ;)

hey darrell ur's is a used 2001 brians is a new 05 and ur's needs work on it plus it is a 440ex so it wil not be as reliable!:o

yeah I know but why cant they make the 450r as reliable as the 400ex
i think they make them non reliable so people will take them to the dealerships and spend money to get something simple fixed that they know but we dont
cant they sacrifice some weight for reliability

look i have a z400 now and owned a 2001 honda 400ex stock also so i know how both ride i put my ex threw hell everyday almost parked it in the garge and like and ex rider knows the only problem with this quad is they are cold natured as hell it takes a few minutes to start but then agian i have put my z400 threw hell to and i have had few problems with it my self but those were because i caused them to me it just your own opion and im about to own a 450r like tomarrow or saturday and i have no intentions in putting it threw hell but im sure it will happen and it will probaly turn out to be a great quad i have owned many quads about ever 400cc and up sport quad you can think of and im only 16 but out ride most adults i know they say i must have balls the size of canada i just say i have no brain ALL QUADS ARE THE SAME YOU TAKE CARE OF THEM AND THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU that what i figured out threw years of riding
