I know this question is always asked, but somone always says somthing and i never get what i asked. It always endes up some where else. What is the best oil to use on a stock bore. I plan on building it to a 416 this winter. So if i use a synthetic I will have to use it always right? i want a oil that will help it over heat. What is the best and were can i get it. thanx

Once you go to synthetic you don't have to always use it but why would you go back to 25 cent oil when your already running good oil???

Of course I'm going to recommend Amsoil. Go out to www.amsoil.com and read up on why they are far superior in wear protection over all other leading brands.....:macho

You get what you pay for and as far as protecting my several thousand dollar motor, I"ll pay extra for the good stuff and not chimp out on cheap oil that is junk after an hours ride....

no petroleum oil or semi synthetic will protect your motor like a synthetic oil will... There are lots of synthetic brands out there and its up to you to research which one you want to use. YOu'll here lots of replies on why you should use this oil or that oil but most of those people probably don't know the difference between oil and ky jelly.....:D

Depends on temps.
So 20W-50 for summer,
And 10W-40 or 30 for winter.
But thats where i'm at, where your at may have different temps.

You can use synthetics at any time EXCEPT when you are breaking in your new motor. Its generally thought to be too slippery to allow the rings to properly seat on a new motor. After the motor is broken in, then synthetics can be used.
