Elka rear shock and link for XC

give me some feedback........who has one and can tell me how they like it. I realize this or that is supposed to be the best but i'm lookin for info on the Elka rear 450R set up and still use the stock swingarm...

I'm told that hands down the JB swing arm, linkage and shock combo is the best?? I want the best but still use the stock swing arm.... Give me some feedabck thanks!!!

J.....the elka set up works great, but ive been hearing people gripe about the ground clearence. IMO, the GT Thunder link with a good rear shock will be your best bet. its the same linkage designed for more clearence

use the single link instead of the dual link for xc. you won't loose any ground clearance

my buddy that i race with is running the elka elite rear with GT Thunder linkage and he said its night and day better than when he ran the elka link.

for the 06....just run a good shock. more then one pro has told me that they did not feel the linkage was needed.

alot of pros are runnin Elka this year???

no linkage would be cheaper... and it is a budget build.

i love elka, but wouldnt give stock to anything a pro is running these days:p its all about the money any more.

i rode a few 06's with just a derisi revalved/resprung rear stock shock and it felt great.

the linkage hanging low or the entire ride height is too low????

mainly it was from people who bought the pro link, it gets the snot beat out of it in XC

I love my rear end, im using the Elka shock with the GT Link, great setup, the pro link like pappy said, is great, and better, buy offers less ground clearance, it just depends on how close you come to the ground where you ride, you may be fine with it, just depends

not sure yet if i'll go with a linkage yet??? thanks for the advice

if you get a swingarm and a nice shock, for sure get the link, it makes a huge difference, JB does make a NICE rear end setup, i would look into a rear end combo such as JB or Lonestar where it is 1 kit, swingarm and link, or just get a swingarm, GT link/Elka link, then the Elka shock

i wouldnt skip on the linkage

Got my 06 trx450r last week my butt is killing me.. Ordered the gt link on monday...A must still... I heard that HCR might be coming out with one but I couldn't find it... All I have heard about GT, they are the best...
