Anyone ever go up 1 tooth on the front? I would think the 400 would be geared more like the 450 that way, or would the motor have trouble pulling a taller gear. I just can't see dropping a tooth when 1st gear is just about useless on an mx track.

i know a few people who have. You cant do it on a stock motor, it simply wont pull it. If you have some decent mods it should be fine. My buddy had a 406 with a few other things and it pulled it fine up until the top of the higher gears. i would say in order to use it in all the gears, you would need a good 416 or 426 to really make it worth it. I like a 16/38 gear for certain situation, but on an MX track, i like stock.

Yea i like the stock gearing, but just would like to get more out of 1st. I ride my niehbors 450 once in awhile and his 1st gear is so much taller than the 400 and i like how it gets out of the tight corners.

ur stock motor can handle it. its just not a quick reving out for say. trust me it made my 1st gear lil longer and more top end. i am gonna put the 16t back on b/c i like it better than a 15.
