k well i have an 2002 400ex, and i was wondering can u buy reverse to put on it, i know its on the 05' but i was wondering if u can buy it as a mod to put on an 2002?

easier and cheaper to just buy a complete 05 motor and put in in your bike,of just buy an O5

what u think the retail prive of a 05 motor? and can u easly fit a 450r motor in one? liek the 2002 frame of an 400

A 450R motor would not fit in a 400EX, you would have to get some mounting kits and stuff they are smaller then the 400 motors, my bro has a 450R and I have a 400EX and my freind has a KFX and I tried payin my bro 600.00 for his brand new 450 engine but It was too small.... Your better off buyin a 400 engine... If you dont want another 400EX engine buy either a DVX,KFX,or Z

just an estimate but I'd guess a brand new 400 engine would run you around 600.00 or 700.00 or so

yea it would def. be a pain to add reverse... have you thought about possibly considering the trx450r

yeha i have considered it but i dont got that much money i might just stick with the 400ex i bought for 5000 so i might just put another $5000 into it and do er up, instead of selling my 400ex and gettin a 450r

yea i know but they are so powerful you just have to give it gas and it will just spin around...

A 450r motor will fit into a 400ex. there is not that much fab to it if you have the money. Get the 450 motor but get it from the dirt bike.

I think if you can't pick you quad up and move it then you shouldn't be riding it. on top of that you will learn that in most cases you don't need reverse to turn your quad around. it all come from experience.

yeah but you can't say there has been no situation where reverse would have made life much easier.... sell your quad get a 05. if you want reverse that is. :D

reverse is handy............If you cant drive......I got my kfx400 for the reverse and i think i have used it less then five times, and 4 of the times is me backing it out of the back of the truck

I bought a 400ex knowing it has no reverse...I coulda used it a few times..but hey...its also easy to get off..push it back wards and get back on..u dont need it too often...and if u can't do that..then dont ride it or dont buy it w/o reverse

What about a Brute force 750??? I'd like to see someone that gets off picks it up and pushes it backwards everytime they cant turn sharp enough or miss the trail!!! :huh :huh

if you bought your 400 used recently for 5000 then you got ape raped! if you bought it back in 2002 then thats a different story

ahha no joke..cause i Just got a 01 for 2700... if u just got 02 for 5000....sucks for u...for who ever sold it .. man...that guy got lucky..LOL

ya well i got an 02 for 2600. it still had the rainbow color thingys on the stock tires!
