Compression on 1995 Honda 300ex

Hi,

What should the compresion be on a 1995 Honda 300ex? How do you check the compression on a 4 stroke? I've been around 2 stroke Snowmobiles all my life and this is my first 4 stroke and first quad. I have all the neccesary tools.

Same as a 2 stroke. Hold the throttle open and crank it over. I would guess compression to be around 150-180 psi stock? Squirt tablespoon of oil in cylinder if psi is low. Retest and compare readings.
