My motor was a little loud so I checked the valves. Intake was right on but exhaust was off. From behind the bike the left exhaust had a 200 and it needed a 210 and the right was a 210 and needed a 215. Now that its right was that off enough to lose some HP?

basically it would be the same as having a cam with a smaller exhaust lobe.. very minimal however.
I would dare say with it fixed you lost a little low end grunt and gained a little topend power... but vvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrryyyyyyy small

it is possible that the bike was a little quicker with the valves being a hair tight....

What really happens when the valve clearnces gets tight is the valves won't close all the way. This is because when everything gets hot you will loose clearance due to thermal expansion. That is why there is valve clearnces. The only time the valves won't close all the way is when your clearnces are near 0. Being a few thousands off won't make a difference. You will also loose power if you clearnces are to high. This happens because the cam doesn't open the valves as far as it should. Hope this helps explain valve clearnces a little better.

Another thing that can happen when the clearnces are to low, is the cam will open the valves to far and they could hit the piston causing all sorts of damage. This is why it is important to keep an eye on valve clearances.

I got a question to throw in here, my 450 had a 140 in both intakes and started perfect, 1-3 kicks cold and 1 kick warm everytime. The valves were way off so I put a 160 in one side and a 165 in the other and now they are adjusted perfect, but it won't start good cold at all. Any ideas?
