Racers took the line for the morning opening round of the IATVHSS. The skies were dark and overcast, the rain was still holding off but we all knew of the strong storms the weatherman had promised us. The utility class hit the track first and the other racers were glad hoping that they would get the track packed down some for them. There was a huge turnout for this class with at least 13 racers signing up including Pit Pass Radio's own Tony Wenck.

Jason McCoy made the switch to the stock class this year which worked out well for him as he finished in second place only to Jarrod Sheets.

Todd Donahoo ran in second place the first lap in the C+ class but would quickly drop when his rear wheel tore off over the lug nuts :eek2:

The race would be cut down by about a half hour since things were running slightly behind and wanted to get the afternoon race started before the storm.

Thanks for posting pics again. I know it was largely a wasted effort to figure out who was who and 2006 mudfest round 1 unless you were snapping a shot of their backsides & maybe the number was legible!

I know we took off about a half hour to 45 mins after the afternoon guys and gals finished up, We headed West on 92 and incountered some light to moderate rain in patches but that was it. Glad i didn't run into that though.. UGLY

Btw Nice coverage as always! I had so much fun even though the track wasn't "ideal" lol..
