My buddy put 440 kit in 99 400 and keep blowing out cylinder base gasket in front. He didnt put in new studs is this problem? help!

yup. he definetly needs new HD studs.

O-ringing the top of the sleeve also helps alot.

what compression piston to hight will keep blowin it i have a 11:1 and no hd stud kit and mine has ran for so long and hasent had eny problems

my 11:1 compression piston started blowing head gaskets when i ported and polished the head and i installed a high performance carb.

Base gaskets are not a compression problem, head gaskets are... which is it?

What gaskets were used? I am still using stock studs with 12.1 comp.6years and no blown gaskets. Cometec are the way to go.

The only problem I can tell you I have seen is with a buddies 440 is, we found the sleeve was installed incorrectly and warped the cylnder. I hope this helps.
