i hear u need something like +2 a-arms, wil stock shocks work, you cant have the front lowered wit hthe +2 a-arms with out doing the back can you wouldnt it end up like slanted \ if i wanna lower out my back end what should i buy, +2 swing arm, new back shock, and would i need a new rear axle? please replay asap thanx

The only way to lower your quad is with ZPS type shocks;) A pair of Elka Recreatoinal will work great if your on a budget. I have those on my 400ex with a Gt Thunder Rebuild in the rear. I run +2 a-arms.... and if your running longer a-arms, you'll need a longer axle. You don't need a longer swingarm.

I would say go with what she said pretty much any aftermarket shocks lower my tripple rate cross country shocks lowered my front end and my rear shock is rebuilt to a dual rate and it is pretty low

for the front you also could get 450r shocks and get them revalved for your quad

Well if you want to know what to do to achieve that set up, that is my quad.

I have Burgard +3 St A-arms, Elka Compression/rebound adjustable ST ride height adjustable front shocks. I have 4:1 offset douglas beadlocks. On the rear I have a LSR Axcalibur racing axle +4, Elka compression and rebound adjustable rear shock with Elka linkage. Any other questions, just ask!

another thing you can do is get smaller tires and wheels, you will notice a huge difference.

well right now i have the razors on the back i think stil stock on front, how much is ur set up chino? how much would it cost u think

Chino886

Well, if you buy new, it cost quite a bit, I think the shocks are almost $1800 by themselves, then the a-arms are approx $500, and the swingarm is really expensive, but you can find used parts on here all the time.

Beadlocks are a type of wheel that locks the bead of the tire on the rim itself. 4:1 is an offset of wheel. I hope I answered your question!

no really lol but itdont matter , what does it do for your quad anwayy? ne performance wise? i was thinking about gettin the fmf powercore 4 waht u think...i already have the powerbomb header or is there ne other fmf u would recomend

Chino886

Well, if you have ever popped a bead off the rim, you know what they are for. I did it in the middle of the desert and it sucked.

I would go with an HMF if I were you, I have heard they are better. I don't know much about any other exhaust systems, I heard that Yoshi is pretty good, but I prefer Sparks.

how do beadlocks hold the bead, is like a bolt on the wheel that runs through the tire? im thinkin about gettin either some t-9 bajas, or somekind of beadlock when i get my next set of rears. I race harescrambles by the way so it would be nice to be able to run a real low psi for the muddy races without worrying about poppin it off the bead during the race

the cheep way but yet good is to put some $150 yfz front shocks on front because they alow you to lower you quad alot like aftermarket shocks if wanted.

and a tcs converetd rear stock rear shock $450 to turn it to zps.

i also seen a 400ex with a stock 450r rear shockand it sat lower than stock too.

The cheep way is the bad way. Get shocks made for the bike. Also a tcs converted rear stocker is 390$ from C@D. Also, don't buy a 450R rear shock, the resevoir hits the airbox. The stock rear shock on a 400 is nearly as good, and rebuildable.

you have to grined the top eye hole skinnier thats all. the bottom fits snug no moding. their almost a inch shorter eye to eye but come with a inch more travle than 400ex and 450r shocks.

you can pick up yfz fronts for $150 off this site. i seen em on here before for only $100.

the mod to the rear is $450

Mind explaining to me how an inch shorter shock on the same arms and frame are going to offer an inch more travel? Because they wont.

400ex stock shocks have like 8. sumthing travle. yfz have 9.1 travle.

when you bottom a 400ex shocks out your frame is like 4 inches off the ground. when you bottom out using the yfz shocks your frame is about 2inches off the ground
