looks like a modified AK..am i right?
i picked myself up an AK-47 a few weeks ago..mine came from romania and has wooden stock and forearm. the only thing i don't like about mine is that the stock is too short. i found a company that makes a folding synthetic stock that is about 2 inches longer..should fix my problem.

i'd guess youve got a 30 round clip...talk about goin through ammo quick...the 7.62 X 39 round is next to impossible to get around here though:mad:

yes i have a bunch of 30 round clips and i used to have the same AK as u, the one i have now is made by Arsenal, its not modified, thats how the come, $600 price tag

ya i love the ar-15 its real acurate i can get 10 shots in a 1 inch group with iron sights at 100 yards at the shooting range and its a 223 so it has a good amount of kickback but not alot

lol my friend just got a ar-15 a little while ago too. its an awesome gun. i would love to have one some day. he took me out for the 1st time shooting with it and it doesnt kick or anything. def a good buy

the ar is nice.. but that Arsenal AK isnt far behind it, that thing shoots like a dream, compared to those romys and those cheap AK's. It will hold its own agains the AR

How much of a difference is there between an AK and a SKS. I am aware there is prob a lot, but not sure.

well basically stay away from an SKS they are pieces of **** lol

almost any AK is better then an SKS.. the action is on the top, which sucks, they jam alot, they arnt made for bigger clips... they just suck haha thats why they are so cheap. the only thing good about them is the NO recoil

Is the ammo really scarce there? Wow, I sold my MAK-90 a couple years ago but never had issues with the Ammo. $3 a box and they had it almost anywhere you went.

I had a 75rnd drum clip for mine but never used it, I liked the looks of the 30rnd clips in it better, plus it was lighter.

I want an AR as soon as I get over my shotgun fetish...haha.

Would like a nice tactical looking .308 also.

haha i have 2 synthetic 30-06 thats good for me. and then 3 wooden ones... weve got plenty of hunting guns but my dad doesnt really like the assualt rifles, but wait till he comes shooting haha

I like the M4's more than the AK's. they are rreal similar to the AR15. but thing about M$'s is civilians cant own one.. well at least cant own a M4 bottom receiver cause they have a full auto sear in them and were not even developed until well after 1986 there for civilians cant own them... upper reciever is a different story... lots of places will just put the M4 upper on a AR15 lower and call it an M4...

What about M16's with the 3 shot burst? Are those legal for civilians?

Yes they are. Anything that shoots more than one bullet at a time for each trigger pull is illegal. You would need to get a liscisence to own one legaly.

Not true.

You can own ANY full auto weapon even post 86 weapons if you have the right paperwork.

And most M-4's are 3 round burst, only the M-4A1 wich is only issued to special forces and rangers, is full auto. The one I carry in my bird is the standard 14.5in barrel, collapsing stock M-4 w/3 round burst.

Plus, the lower of a M4 and a M-16/AR-15 are identical minus one mill cut on the AR that allows the weapon to have a select fire sear. The difference between a A-2 M-16 or M-4, and a A-1 or M-4A1 lower is the type of sear installed, 3rd burst or Auto.

No, it does intitle them to serve random inspections to make sure you dont have any toys your not supposed to, since you'd also be a federal liscensed dealer, you have some laws and regs you have to abide by, but they cant just decide to search you out of the blue. There are weapons storage rules for some types of dealers (i.e. Class III (Full Auto) And DD (destructive devices i.e. grenade launchers) and they can inspect these, and I'm not totaly sure of the laws for those. But I'm pretty sure they still need a reason to search you. Much like a cop cant just pull you over for no reason. Well he can, but you can make his life hell for it......

wow. ak_stick, you know more than me. i have heard some of that stuff but i did not know that civilians can buy M4's. i thought that colt only solb the full autos and 3 round burst M4' to gov. and law enforcement.

I just bought a Bushmaster about a month ago.AWESOME!!!Ammo is realatively cheap as long as you stay away from brass.I have been using the Federal .Its the same as issued overseasI have also shot some Remington 5.56 and dont really see a difference.Although I am only at 200 yards.Not many places here for me to let her stretch her legs.
