450R shocks will be a big improvement over stock, since they are compression and rebound adjustable. The Elka's will make it seem like a completely different quad. The nice thing about Elka's is that they are custom made to your weight, riding style, and a-arms, and are triple-rate so it will really enhance the dampening abilities. You can pick up a set of the Rec Series on Ebay for $465.

works can supply a kit wich replaces the single spring on the R shocks with a dual rate setup, get them revalved to your wieght and you have a real good set of shocks for little money.

i love the 450r shocks. many people say to wait and buy some elkas or even works but i couldnt be happier with the 450r's.

If you can swing it, get a basic set of Elkas with reservoirs. I have 450R shocks, and they work well, but they're probably too stiff with stock arms. By the time you get them set up right, you could have bought the Elkas. BTW, I'm running +2 arms with my stock 450R shocks, so that softens them up quite a bit.

I've had both and the 450r shocks compared to the elkas feel like stock. Definentely spend the extra money and get the elka recs. I ran +2s and R shocks and it was still a tad bit to stiff.
