I have been buying the Honda oil for my 400Ex for a while now and it is getting pretty expensive. I have heard others were better. I know you should use 10w40 but what Brand of oil is the Best and does not break down quickly?

Wht are you using?

How does it hold up?

What oil should i use for summer and what to use for Winter?

What is the Best?

How much does it cost?

If you really care about your motor, continue running the Honda oil, or a motorcycle-specific oil. These oils are here for a reason, as they don't contain friction modifiers. Friction modifiers make the oil very slippery, which is good for the valvetrain, but kills wet clutches. I just use any quality motorcycle oil in a 15w50/20w50 viscosity. I am going to try Amsoil when I order more oil for my sled. If you switch from a normal automotive oil to a motorcycle oil, you will most likely notice a dramatic reduction in clutch slippage.
