I want to build a work stand like AC makes but out of steel. Does anyone have the dimensions of the legs and the width of one of these stands? I don't really want to spend $130 for a stand when I have the materials to build one. Or some blueprints?

sam's club has one too. probably similar to the one from sears. it's hydraulic and lifts about 18" or so. well worth the money.

Yup, Sears Craftsman. I plan on getting it soon because the sale hasn't started yet. It's regular $120, it's onsale for $99, and with a members card its only $90. It lifts up to 18 inches and looks sturdy. The sam's club on is cheaper at $80 and if you don't have one near you you can buy it over there site. The stands look identical except for color and a slighlty lower lifting capacity.

Well I really only wanted something portable that I can take to the races. Those look nice but also big and heavy. Anyone have the specs for an AC workstand?
yesterday, july, i saw the Craftsman jack/stand and today i bought it. they are so popular here that they were all sold out and so i had to order one and it doesn't get here til then. happy to buy it bummed to have to wait. i think those are good for storage so you don't flat spot your tires!

I just saw another one in the Northern Hydraulics catalog. I believe it was a 1,250 pound capacity and looked the same as others but this one was on sale for $90.
It is probaby better to buy from a store because shipping would probably kill you.

go to your local supermarket and buy 2 milk crates, they are like $2 each.. they make the quad sit high enough to work on it, and when your not using em you can fill em with old parts.. and best of ll its not $120.. its $4.. or even make something similar out of metal.. Just a thought
