I know it has probably been asked a million times, but please help me guys. I recently put an esr 310 kit on my 86 and it went boom (crank bearings!) I am going to replace the old crank with a new one, but I want a long rod engine. So here's my question: Since you can purchase a complete crank with a connecting rod already ready to go (trued, balanced etc...) will a 88-89 crank with a long rod work (fit) with my 86 bottom end? Do I need to run a different type of piston if it will work? I know I will need a spacer plate, but I'm wandering if the 88-89 crank is compatible with mine. Any and every reply is greatly appreciated.
