I just installed the HRC kit on my 06 450r. IT seems to be running too rich on the bottom end. It definately pulls very hard, just wondering how to correct the jetting issues.

Any help would be greatly appeciated.

what needle and main jet size are you running?

I am running the HRC kit with a K&N, no lid, hmf slip on w/hrc head. The jetting I believe is a 162. Right now I still have the stock needle in. I am thining about going up to a 172 main.

It runs very strong. Take a while (5 min) to warm up it seems like.

Did you put the entire hrc kit in including all the carb parts? The main jet, needle replaced with clip in 3rd groove from top, accelerator pump bypass jet and adjustments to accelerator pump.

I helped him install this. We did everything except the hrc needle. Its still the stock needle in the stock location. I guess we will throw that needle in there this week and see how it runs.

Complete HRC kit installed, Get half way on throtle and it starts sputtering, when I back off it's fine. But I know that's not right?

Any Ideas?
Thanks

my stuff runs like a champ, it just needs the needle put in and that is all.

I know that I had to mess with the idle a little and the air/fuel mixture screw.

I got the HRC Kit and the 162 main is too lean! I bumped mine up to a 48 pilot and a 175 main and she runs perfect, good plug color and she flies!

I am going to run a 172 main.....and change the needle to the HCR one. It should be fine....I will get it done this weekend.

The HRC kit comes with a 175 main right? Mine runs great with the exception of taking too long to start sometimes. I bumped up to a 48 pilot and could hardly keep it running. It would crank a LOT easier but after it was warmed up would die almost everytime I let off the throttle, even with the idle cranked up. I may try a 45.

Mine takes forever to warm up, it'll run with the choke on, but soon as I let it go, stalls. The HRC kit comes with a 162 main, I bumped up to a 172. I am going to try a 44 pilot or something close.

162 main is too lean, put in aftermarket needle like mentioned, but i would go back to stock pilot, it should start fine like that , noticed on many threads that people that changed their pilot je ended up going back to original , just adjust adjust your air screw, and turn up your idle slightly, i have mine little over 2 turns out, 185 main new needle 3rd clip, aibox cut, k&n, dg bullet exhaust at around 1000ft

As you guys discuss your jetting be sure to specify if you're talking about 04/05 or 06+. They have different carbs and different jetting.

Is your airbox lid off? It's suppose to be for the HRC kit.
