They wont be making the blaster because they are discontiuing 2 strokes so it wouldnt be a 2 stroke it would be a 4

Your close but it will be way more simlar to a yfz than a blaster. But I would expect a chassis similar to the YFZ with a yzf250 motor in it.

I have to disagree, Yamaha needs an entry level quad with an entry level sticker price, right around the low 3K range. No way with a 450 type chassis and a 250F engine, you would be looking at 4500+, they could not compete against the 250EX and Z250 for entry level riders.

Your looking at it wayyy wrong. This quad if none of the other manufactuers beat them to it will be in a class of its own. These will be made for experinced racers under 16 years old in the youth production class, that want a performance minded quad instead of a conservitive trail-minded blaster and 300ex, who also cannot move up to a 450cc quad. You catching my drift?

I think its hard to say which way they will go with this. On one hand Yamaha needs a entry level quad to compete with the Honda 250ex and the Suzuki 250. On the other hand Yamaha has always done things a little bit different than everyone else.

Banshee, Blaster...

I'm more concerned with Honda and their plans for the 300ex.
Where does the 300ex fit in their lineup? Did anyone notice that Honda recently updated the 400ex, 250ex and the trx90 but not the 300ex. Either they plan on a total redseign of the 300ex or they plan on dropping the 300 from their lineup all together.

I found a Honda dealer in the UK on the internet the other night when I was searching for some parts and they didnt even offer a 300ex over there.

So, go figure!

The honda 300ex will stay as-is until sales drop, then they will drop the quad all together. Why update it.. they have the 250ex (beginner) and 400ex (intermediate). It's the unnecessary step inbetween.

As far as the blaster replacement goes.. look for a quad with the Bruin 250 motor in it to compete with the honda and suzuki 250's.

The Bruin 250 ute is about $3400. Trim it down a little and you'll have a competitive entry level sport quad at about $3200.

Nah as they always say if a model in the line up isnt getting changed or just getting the graphics or colours changed its either selling like hot cakes and theres no need for change or its on its last legs and its not worth changing. but the 300ex has remained unchanged for a long time so it hard to say. the blaster got hyrdraluic brakes and hood and different bars.

i heard something a while ago the 07 model will have a blaster frame :( so it could be a de-tuned 250f with a blaster frame and i know for sure they will never put a 250f engine from the dirtbike straight into the blaster the will like restrict it to 18 hp or something lol. but they might be keeping the blaster altogether cause there was something about a loophole with the blaster not so long ago and the 2 stroke law. :macho
