i have pretty much convinced my mom to let me get a 400ex. but i was wonderin. what kit is best for trail riding. the 416, 426, 440. and what else should i get to optimise the power. thanks

My advice would be to spend your money on suspension and handling first. Especially if you are buying new, a pipe and some jetting will go along ways in the woods. IMO the 400 has aot of useable power but lacks in handling and suspension.

if i was in the same situation as u i would go with a 426. everybody on this site will tell u that the 440 has too much torque and doesnt rev and the 416 has top end power and will rev higher but i would go 426 just to be high reving and still have a crap load of torque to come outa corners fast. but like they said handling before motor.
