here is an awesome video back in 86 at carlsbad raceway. The video is really long but it loads quick. In the video is 2 motos of 125s and then 2 motos of atvs. It is cool to see all of the 250Rs and some of the the great riders in their prime.

I downloaded the large version. I spit my Coke out laughing when the commentator was talking to the second place Suzuki rider after the first moto.

Commentator: You didn't expect the Honda to be so quick did you?
Zuki rider: It doesn't matter because the Zuki is a better bike with a better tune by Clem racing.
Commentator: Well, I guess it does matter since the Honda finished first.

Bwahahahahahaha:eek2: :D

sweet video....i dont get why people say the honda still competes with the new age quads, but the LT 250R cant?? when in the races they r obviously neck and neck...people dont give the LTs the respect they deserve, they are classics as well as the R

The TRX frame is much better than the LT frames and a support crew is needed to keep the old Zuki 250R motors running good. I have a 51hp '96 Suzuki RMX250 (race version) and I love it. If I were to start an LT project I would definitely use a '96-'00 motor.

keep in mind this is in 1986....so the honda had just came out and suzuki had a full year on them...most of the guys in the video that were on hondas looked to be on mainly stock quads

gotta love the 125 after race interviews...they arent afraid to say exactly what is on their minds

ya it seems like the announcers were ripping on the quad class saying its for dirtbike racers after they are old and lazy.

i was laughing a bit at that one.

and yes the interviews are like " i won, because the guy infront of me couldnt handle the pressure i was putting on him. " AKA he sucked. lol

ya, back then they didnt worry about what they said on camera.
now its a whole different ball game. everyone just tells the camera what the 'politically correct' answer. lol. people now a days are weak.

that was a really good video.

I like how they were saying the "ATV four" riders were so old, being 25-27. The oldest being 27. Gust is 40 now and most of the fastest guys are over 30:)

And the guy on the suzuki was asked if he was suprised how fast the honda was and he was like "im not suprised, because the suzuki is better"

None of the names in the quad or bike classes rang a bell. Except for Eddie Sanders, no other big names were up there. That I had heard of before.
I watched the whole vid and actually liked it.

It seemed to me like the announcers took the quads as sort of a novelty.

Bee has a point, I was born on 11-14-1985. Thus making me less than a year old when that was made. Thanks Bee you made my day.
