360 Question

Does anyone exactly know what is wrong with the XBOX 360 that you have to send them back? I have mine and it works awesome but just wondering what to look for?

Ive heard so many things i dont even know what to start. I have 3 friends who have them and all 3 xbox 360's have destroyed discs.

Could be related to that.

Look out for over heating. That's the main concern.

if you stand the 360 upright then it scratches the disks. so lay it flat and you should be fine. ive also heard of them over heating, never seen it though.

It doesnt matter which way you stand it. It shouldnt scratch discs unless you move it while its playing. The main concern is overheating.

it isnt scratching the disk... what is happening is that the laser is becoming damaged and acturally burning the disk(in a bad way).

I've had mine since Nov. 22nd without any problems. I think a lot of the overheating problems come from improper placement, on a carpet or in a tight cabinet with crap piled on top etc...

thats is NOT true.. my 360 has been standing since december and i havent had 1 disc scratched.. the only way it DOES scratch it, is if u move the console while its standing up...


And yea, i had to send mine back becase it crashed.. this red light will show up on the console where the green light wold light up for the remote.. . they send me a box overnight wit hthe return shipping laben inside of it.. got a brand new one in 5 days:D

Hope its ok to stand up the way my entertainment center is set up there is no way ill put it in there. My ps2 overheated once let alone this. now im kinda freaked out by the discs though but i guess now im glad that i got the best buy warranty!!

the only time mine ever scratched a disk was when it was standing upright on top of my entertainment center and i got pissed at a game and threw my controller at the wall and it came tumbling to the floor and i heard a whining and screeching noise and it scratched my disk. i dont have any other problems with it except being addicted to it:eek:
