I don't know about how to keep the scratches off but you can use WD40 to help the mud from sticking to it. We use that foaming tire cleaner to shine plastic up after we wash it also. I've never heard of plastic wax?

Yup, there is no way around scratches. Unless your quad is a garage queen, there is no way around them. Unfortunately, black plastics will show the scratches the worst than any other color :ermm:

i'd say armor all is about the best stuff you can use on your plastics. it helps the mud to come off alot easier, and protects against sun damage. scratches are inevitable but just spray on some armorall and rub it in with a dry cloth or somethin and it really fills em in nice, makes the plastic shine like new :D its only like $4 at wal-mart. great stuff

baby oil will make them shine like crazy. but it attracts dust....so if your gona ride in really dusty places dont use it.

i use wd-40 underneath, and tire gel on the top side of fenders.it seems to work pretty good not showing all the scratches.:)

hmm...just a thought, but what if...now im just spit ballin here...but what if you wrapped your plastics with tin foil? they sure would be shiny and they just might help you keep scratches off your plastics. yea my point is get used to the scrathes, lol they'll come by god, they will. in fact if i were you, i'd go ahead and pre-scratch them yourself with a stick or somethin, so when it does happen you wont even notice
