Any Lawnmower Techs Out There???

Hey, I just bought a 02 model Craftsman LT1000 mower for 100 bucks. I got it off my boss he said it ran when parked but bad bad saftey switch on deck. But thats not my concern, it doesnt have any spark now and i have already done several things. I.E. it had a extremly rusty flywheel from sitting out in the weather so i removed and cleaned. I reinstalled still no spark. It has a good fuse so it not that. then i used a test light to see if i had power to the coil. NO POWER! so i used a jumper wire off the battery still wouldnt fire. SO now im kinda stuck until i get a wiring diagram to try to figure out whats up. SO if anyone on here has access to this type of diagram i would appreciate if you could get me a wiring diagram. THANKS!

Your magneto is defective.
Or, spark plug

new one about $80-100.

ya try unplugging little black wire on coil, if still no spark your coil is junk like dieselboy said....

Try getting another magneto

There is a safety switch, should be down next to were the steering wheel is, that is where the deck safety switch is. if it's bad it want get any power anywhere. you can by pass it or get a new one. hope it helps

did u fix the safety under the seat cuz if not it wont start and if u already did its the magneto

yea hey thanks for the replys guys, yea i bought this mower from my boss, the safety switch is bad but has previously been wired around. But i did get it running tonight, pulled the flywheel, sanded the hell outta it b/c tons of rust put it back on regapped it and BOOM got spark. already had the tank off so i hit it with a little carb cleaner hit the key (that i got working now) and fired right up. n e way thanks for the help
