Hello everyone. Im looking at purchasing a +2 lt front end for my 04 450r. I just wanted see what everyone is running on their quads. Also get some of your opinions on what arms and shocks are better then others and why. The arms Im looking at are Lonestar, Laeger, Houser, Burgard and JD. Shocks Elka, TCS, Pep, Axis.

For quality, performance, and availability you can't beat Lonestar. they arms are top notch. and either elka, pep, tcs, fox, or axis will work great just as long as they are setup for your weight and riding style. to be totally honest you won't go wrong with any of the choices you named, it just all depends on what look you want.

Here is the best choice that i think you can go with elka elite long travel with roll design +3 +1

The problem here is the cost. I hate to say it. What about the cheap ones!!! I hate to use that word but!!!! All the above are too much CASH.. We ride ever 2 weeks, we don't race. (maybe some year) We just want a nice ride. How about just +2 +1. Non LT? Or a cost affective set of LT's.

Thanks

if I were you I would go with housers new slicast LT A-arms with your choice of shocks there all good shocks, but houser deals with elka and custom axis. I really like their new slicast arms because setting up the camber caster on those is the simplest thing out there right now all you have to do is turn a dial to set them up to what ever you want. My buddy has them on his 06' and they are really nice.

Yea i'm expecting it to be a good setup.. i can't wait to get on it and ride it.. I've never riding a 450r with Long Travel and think it should be a pretty evident difference.

burgard +2+1 nickle plated arms 390$ to my door. 200$ for the G-force axle I run. Then it cost me just over 800$ for my derisi rebuilds and new rear link. My R handles awesome for the $ I spent.

Im sure long travel and elka's or fox shocks would be even better but im very happy with the way it handles with my HRC sparks Pipe/filter.

This is before I got my wheels and my new bumper. I need to get a digicam or borrow a freinds to get some new pic's with the bumper pappy did for me on the R.

for cheap arms with a truely great warranty, check out smcfabrication.com. from lt to standard, they are great arms.

as far as shocks, these are a little higher end, but I'd go with motowoz. I have them on order, should arrive tomar. check them out at motowoz.com and talk to jim about them

So then Elka's are comparable to Axis shocks or only certain models of Elka's?

You will get a WIDE variety of answers to this. When it comes down to it, it's all personal preference. Everyone is going to tell you something different.

It all depends on where you get them and what they ask for riding style and weight setup.

If you give them all that info any of those top companies should work really well.

most shock company's have the high grade and then the low grade and others inbetween..

like a ford focus s model vs a ford mustang shelby gt 500.

I have a fairly cheap set up only expensive part are the shocks but my sponsors hooked up with elka so it wasnt bad. They are eyeball engineering +3 long travel a arms with elka long travel piggy back rebound comp and ride height adjust. I had axis on my other race quad my 400ex that was a fairly expensive set up with jrd long travel a arms and long travel axis with all the adjustments. I like the front end on the 450r a lot better here are pics of both. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/250ex3/100_5245.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/250ex3/100_5362.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/250ex3/100_2464.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/250ex3/102_4387.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/250ex3/102_4388.jpg

Try this (http://www.prosportatv.com/shopcart/product_info.php?cPath=198_238&products_id=515)

It's long travel, comes with the TCS shocks, JD a-arms, and brake-lines. Id say that that is a pretty good deal. Since your on a bit of a budget, that may be more of what your looking for.
