It is not to hard to do. I just did one in my 06. Drain coolant, lean quad over on two wheels, you wont have to drain engine oil, The side cover comes off, (remove the oil line that attaches to it), remove plug for the kick start lever from the inside of the cover, remove water pump cover, you wont need to take apart water pump assm. unless you want to replace seals, remove the clutch basket, install crank gear set and idler gear you get from Yamaha, reinstall clutch basket, use new side cover gasket, use 98 yzf250 kick start lever, very straight foward install.

The total for the yz250 kicker and shaft kit should be around $230.

You only need the starter block off if you take off the e start. I also heard the kickstart plug will work.

It comes with theshaft kit, kick lever, hot start cable and lever, aluminum footwells, plastic footwell extensions, and the starter blockoff.

All in all it comes with stuff that isnt necesarry, but you could get all that stuff for a lot less than there price if you look around.

There is a GREAT walkthrough on YFZcetral

Kickstart Walkthrough (Click me) (http://www.yfzcentral.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=55010&hl=kickstart+install)

Very simple with those instructions, mine took about an hour.
