tc racing shortys look sweet but where do you get them. does anyone have some pics of the tc shorty pipes? thx alot

tc just makes them into shortys usally out of supertrap and then slaps a tc logo on it...i dont think there race legal anymore friends of mine had to get rid of his cause he cant race with it..i dont no if that just new jersey or this districk...

all i know about shortys is that they are SO LOUD!!!!!!! you can even here your self think

with that pipe you will only gain bottom end on a 400ex.
if you put a stock 400ex ill dyno around 27hp. add the tc pipe and it shows bottom end gain but still only has 27hp on top

i had a white bros pipe. it worked good. then i moded it into a shorty and felt no gain or loss in power only added noise.

That is my favorite style of TC pipes, the new ones are pretty lame looking and now they look even more like an original supertrapp. They look like a supertrapp pipe exactly now and then they have the super fast TC racing sticker stuck on the side, so they must be good now:rolleyes:

Ok look heres a new one, pretty lame looking if you ask me.... but I guess TC had to do something to get by the new sound rules....:ermm:

i would just buy the super trapp and mod it. be much cheeper

A shorty pipe is only as good as the header and how well the rest of the motor is built. I have a GT Thunder shorty, and it did make a good power difference on mine, but my motor is getting a little extreme on how it's built. Most of the reason for the extra power on my GT Thunder though is how well the header flows compared to any other aftermarket header, not the shorty pipe itself. The header is made totally different. Much smoother bends to it and a larger pipe. The shorty pipe itself is just a straight shot of exhaust with no restrictions.

yeah i was thinking about getting a shorty i have an HMF exhuast on mine and i was thinking about cutting it what all do you have to do and would i have to rejet it or anyhting like that , or how much would it be to buy a tc or a supertrapp shorty? thanks!

i had a white bros e series. i madde it in to a shorty. never rejetted and it ran fine and the plug stayed tan so mine was fine. i also ran no muffler for a while and plug stayed tan. i ran a 165 main
