axle lock nut?

Ok I just loosened my axle lock nut, removed the retaining clip and I still can't get the lock nut off my axle. Is there something else I have to do. How do you remove the axle?

some times your axle will mushroom from the stress, thats what happened to me i cut my stock axle off with a hack saw.

bet that took a while:D

SOmetimes it will just seize on there if the splines werent lubricated when it was last installed. try tapping it with a hammer to get it to break loose. you could apply heat, but not too much because you could comprimise the strength of the axle if you get it too hot. Worst case you may have to cut it off, but that is a last resort. and you may not have to cut teh axle, but the locknut itself to releast teh pressure holding it. a lock nut is much cheaper than a new axle
