someone told me to remove my airbox drain plug so that if water does enter, it will have a low place to exit before entering the carb. Do you keep yours on? or remove it all the time or only when you know you will be crossing deep water.? Does it also benefit from increased air flow to the carb?

I sliced an x shaped hole in mine to allow water to drain out. I doubt any effect will be made as far as the air is concerned.

I always remove mine if I don't run a lid that way anything that enters can exit.....

Just for clarification I have the stock airbox cover on, I guess the only water that may enter is through the snorkel.

I'd leave the plug on then. If you're riding through water deep enough to come in the snorkel, you're just going to flood your airbox with the plug off anyway IMO.;)

if ur in water deep enough to get in the snorkel then thats just crazy i mean i dont see the point in goin in the water

i heard that if you remove the plug then it could spit oil on your brake and keep you from stopping

Mine fell off one day. I love not having it on lets all the water drain out of the box. I have never had oil spit out of my carb on to my brakes so I would not worry about that.

spit oil on your brakes and keep you from stopping???

i HIGHLY doubt that is nearly possible

I drilled a small hole in the bottom of mine to let any water that may get into the box, out. Works great!

i have a good feeling when u go splashin through mud and your drain plug is removed that muddy water will splash into yer airbox

i just leave mine in. learn to wheelie through large puddles so your snorkle doesn't take gulps.

it takes quite a bit to get in your snorkel........... if the water is higher than a stock front bumper your are at risk

If the water level is high enough to get into your snorkel you shouldn't be in it.
