has anyone here owned/raced a crf450. im interested in getting either a 450r or a crf, ive found race ready crfs at lower prices than the 450rs. im wanting the quad for flat track/tt racing. i think i would probably be better off with a 450r but i just want to consider the crfs that are out there. is there much of a power difference in the two motors, i know theyre the same and all but there has to be some differences. im wanting the bike that has the most potential in the motor. hopefully this makes sense and i would appreciate anyone's input. thanks.

stock for stock the crf is faster and with the same mods the crf is faster but they can only be raced in the open class the 450r can be raced in all classes.

as he said, you pay more for the 450r's because they are a production bike and most racers are moving to production bikes because the classes for hybrids are becoming less and less.

there are plenty of classes for hybrids, the only class they can run would be a production A,B,C . but they can run 4 stroke a,b,c and open a,b,c as well as the age classes like +25 and +30.
