From the side of highway 395, you can see some of the large jumps on the main track.

After quite sometime trying to get the schedule situated we where all ready to start racing. Even this little guy on his batter powered Kawaskai.

As we all know, racetown is known for its more technical jumps which most riders enjoy. Such as Dustin Nelson shows us during practice.

Here is another jump that riders enjoy. The 105 foot step up, if you make it to the down side.

One of the best things about this track is that you can pretty much watch from anywhere and still get a great veiw of the track.

One down fall about this track, is there really isn't as much room on the gate as there is on other tracks. So you have to get there early if you want a good spot.

Because of the large amount of pro riders, they had to split them up and run qualifiers for gate positioning in the main.

It looked as if it would be Dustin Nelson who would grab the holeshot for the first wave.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 06:27 PM
But it would be the number 56 rider, Jeff Spooner, who would get out front.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 06:29 PM
But Nelson was quick to make his move around Spooner to take over the first place position.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 06:38 PM
And Jeff Spooner was holding onto the second place position.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 06:42 PM
And it was Josh Frederick running in the third place.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 06:47 PM
Dustin Terry, who is new to the pro class this year, looked at if he was finally having his first race this year, where he was not having any problems with his bike. Terry shown here running in the fourth place position.

The real battle in this race was the second, third, and fourth spots. They where so close, that we where not sure who was going to finish where.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 07:01 PM
Here the three are shown again going over the step up right after eachother.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 10:29 PM
As Dustin Terry brought the pressure, he made the move to pass Frederick and take over the third place position.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 10:40 PM
Now Terry had set his eyes on passing Jeff Spooner, but would he be able to?

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 10:42 PM
Nelson went on to take the win.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 10:44 PM
It was a close race up until the very last second. But it was Jeff Spooner who grabbed the second place, and Dustin Terry finished in third.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 10:48 PM
The second wave was off...

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 10:50 PM
And it was Mike Machado on his Honda 450R that grabbed the holeshot.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 10:55 PM
But it was Nick Hengtgen who was able to nudge out Machado and take the lead.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 10:57 PM
It was not long before Machado made the pass to take the first place position again, and Jeremy Schell moved into the second place position, pushing Nick into third.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 11:05 PM
It was Mike Machado who was still in the lead, but Jeremy Schell was closing the gap.

quadchick01
03-28-2006, 11:16 PM
And Doug Eichner was running in the third place position.

Ricky Nickell getting ready to make the pass on TJ Dietrich

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 05:33 PM
But it was Mike Machado who took a well deserved first place win.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 05:34 PM
Jeremy Schell, took an impressive second place finish, after being off for a few months.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 05:36 PM
And it was Doug Eichner who was able to hold onto the third place position.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 05:46 PM
The wind picked up, as the pros headed to the line.

It was Doug Eichner who grabbed the holeshot, but what most people did not see happen, was that only half of the gate dropped. So half of the riders where off the gate a few seconds before the other half of the riders. The remaining riders on the gate just plowed through. .

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 05:50 PM
It wasn't long before Dustin Nelson moved into the first place position.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 05:52 PM
Schell was near the front of the pack, but spun out in the back section and came off his quad, allowing a few riders to get around him.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 05:56 PM
All of the riders where riding their hearts and such as Nick Hengtgen.

Which dazed people as the red flag was thrown out four laps into the seven lap race. They all pulled off and where trying to figure out what exactly was going on.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 05:59 PM
Everyone headed back to the starting line, and lined up to re-race. The gate was checked to make sure we would not have the same problem once again, and the riders where off.

It was a close holeshot, but it was Nelson who took the early lead, followed closely by Jeremy Schell, and Cyle Chislock.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 06:01 PM
As they other guys where racing, Chris Riley was out early once again, as he looked down at his quad.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 06:04 PM
Jeremy Schell, was having a great race, as he was running in the second place position.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 06:07 PM
Cyle Chislock was running in the fourth spot, and was trying to hold off Machado.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 06:08 PM
But Chislock was unable to hold off Machado, and Mike Machado made the move around Chislock to move into the fourth place position. The battle for 2nd, 3rd, and fourth was close, and one mistake could cause any of these riders to fall back.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 06:10 PM
When the checked flagged was finally waved, it was Dustin Nelson who took the win for the second moto.

quadchick01
03-29-2006, 06:15 PM
After a very Strenuous battle, it was Jeremy Schell who was able to hold on to the second place postion. And you can bet that the "soCal Hick" was happy with this, after just coming back from an injury.
