400?

my friend got an 05 400ex just when the came out and he went to get it serviced then he rode it then the engine "blew up". he noticed there was no oil in the engine. he took it to the dealer and they said there was no oil in it. pieces of the piston were missing they said. what do dealers do to fix this once this happens? should i consider buying it from him considering what has happened to it and since all the work is done to it?

Go ahead and buy it, but after he gets the dealer to fix it. Because if you buy it from him before its fixed its probably going to cost you alot.

im not buyin his now, tom clark motorsports wanted 2700 to fix it and he sold it to his brother for 500 and his brother fixed it where he works for like 1700 and now hes sellin it for 4000, i can get a better one for cheaper

the dealer should have fixed it for free since they serviced it. i would have went as far as getting a whole new engine out of it.
