I just got powdercoat...and right above the pegs it is already scratched like crazy. i want to keep it from wearing thru like on the stock paint. i don't care if i have to replace the sticker every race...

is there anything that goes on the frame right there to take the wear isntead of the frame?

Pro Armor gives you 4 rubber pieces to stick to the skid to help with rubbing and squeaks. Something like that would work great.

after talking to a couple of my friends that race mx on bikes, they told me that they just use Grip tape that you can get at skateboard shops and they stick it to the frame where you are talking about. It also reduces the amount of slip when riding. This is just a suggestion, but i'm gonna try it. I believe it comes in different colors also.. check it out ~Jay

I think the grip tape would wear the hell out of you boots. Are you looking for a metal frame protector or some good tape?
Also if you spend a ton on PC you don't want it wearing off, you want it to look good!

It make scrape on your boots a little bit, but would help you in two ways.. save your pc, and help keep your boots from sliding around.

Check out maier's website. They have plastic frame guards for both sides of the frame where your boots rub.

I have been using 3M ladder grip tape from Home Depot. It is designed for ladder steps, but works well on frame rails. I wear Alpinestar Tech 6 boots and have had no problem with the tape wearing on the boots. Attached is a picture, the black tape is hard to see agianist the silvervien frame.
