05 450r or 06 450er

well im confused... would it be better to get an 06 450 er and leave it stock or buy a modded 05 450r..... and if anyone has anymodded ones tht r selling close to pa tell me..thnx i dont really trust electric start which has been leaning me more torwards the 05..

Get the '05. The 06's are having trouble with the e-start.

Whatever you do, don't ever leave any bike stock. We all know that stock sucks!!

Get the '06 kick if you can or just get the E-start, turn up the idle a little and don't hit the throttle when you start it and it will start perfect. People say that when you stall the '06 e-start that it is tough to start again. When I stalled my '05 bad it would take a few extra kicks to get started also. Any 450 out there including all the dirt bikes will be at least a little tough to start if you stall them bad. Also, I haven't heard of many crank bearing issues on the '06 yet, something to consider.

Thats a misconseption. The Electric dosnt start, its just people do not follow directions. In the manual, it states that you CANNOT hold the start button down for more then 5 seconds, and after 5 seconds, it needs a 10 second wait interval. I guarantee people do not follow this, and break the startedr. Hitting the gas also is not needed.

Get the 06, trust me, you will love it.

as far as the e-start goes, GET IT. i've never had a any problems with mine. you just have to learn to not hit the throttle when you start it

i don't get it. you've written this to sound as though the 06 stock will keep up with a modded 05. i guess it depends on what's done to the 05. but if its much at all, and done right, the STOCK 06 will be far, far behind it.

i have a 04 with hrc cam and a 500 kit and the 06 stock is just as fast. the new 06's are much faster and it will only be a matter of time before everyone know's it.

Get the estart i love mine and beat the **** outta the starter in the woods and have no problems!!!

hell yea i have the 06 e start , came off a shee,, best thing i ever hadd abuse the starter on it and it works great. thing is a monster, add the hrc kit it is god. 05 is good but i love the 06 alot more. good lukc with ur choice
