Whats your price range? Do you want electronic or mechanical? You can get a nice Spyder Imagine package for around $180 or a Tippman for about the same price. Imagines are electronic, Tippmans are not. If you can spend like around $300 then go for an Ion.

lol i feel the exact opposite about spiders, but i play tournaments.

by far the most reliable gun on the market is a tippman 98.

i used to work for at a field and tippmans were our rental guns and those things last FOREVER. unless u are an idiot and u screw it up your self.

so get a tippmann 98
- 20 oz tank
-A good mask, i personally wear a JT PROFLEX.

WHEN U GET MORE MONEY
- i would get a revolution hopper made by view loader when u can. its not a must but will help stopping chopped paintballs, well help alot.
-Then like a 12 in barrel later.
-Some type of pod pack to hold extra paintalls at ur side, u wont run out as fast and ur friends will if they dont have them.

DO NOT GET ANY SPIDER IMMATATION GUNS. YOU WILL REGRET IT!

OK just playing in the woods i would say a 98custom.... they are a little out of the 150 range new... a spyder is a great starter gun look at the imagine for electrical or a vector for a mechanical starter gun... tippmans are built like tanks but have the added weight. spyders are a smaller profile if you want to get into the speed ball level i would suggest going spyder they are shorter lighter and there is min maintenance on them.

i see some people in here are saying an ion. i love the gun own 2 myself but if you are just starting out and wanting to play in the woods this is NOT the gun to start with.. this gun needs a HPA tank and does not run on co2(or does not preform well with co2) so the cost of start up with an ion is higher due to the need for a HPA tank and a motorized hopper..

any more questions let me know..

i have been working for a paintball shop for 5 years now and have been playing somewhere around 10-11

btw the tippmann is 4 sale if anyones interested

Get a tippman A5

Doober
03-28-2006, 02:47 PM
i got the tippmann a-5 and i love it, the only thing you need to do is get a diff barrel like a 14 inch cause it works wonders...and the regular one is just 8 inch so not all that accurate...

my current gun collection consists of 2 eblade cockers, 1 mechanical cocker, 2 ions, a mag and a spyder. i have owned just about every gun out there. always went back to the cocker i just like to tinker with them. i have been playing so long now and i think its one of those hobbys that i will never be able to leave.

EDIT: x-ball is fun i do like the game style... but the sideline coaching has to go

ya i think imma get like an e2 cocker when i start getting serious again. their fast enough for me plus the accuracy of a cocker. throw a halo or something on and ill be set- up :)

ive owned
acouple cheapy's
a bushy
tippman
mag
phantom

so its time for an cocker :)

and ya i know what u mean ballistic about not quiting, if it wasnt for the owners of the only field in town being A-holes i would still be playing. imma start having to drive awhile to go to a decent field, when i get on a team and all that.

cockers are not just a gun to jump into blindly.... don't get me wrong i think they are the best guns out there as long as you don't mess with them. do your research find one that you like and ALL the steps to work on it.

since my local field closed i have to drive 2.5 hours to find a decent competition but its worth staying in the game to me

i really like my evil omen and i have an impulse as a backup.....i had a cocker and i think my omen is by far a better gun......
