New air filter???

Just wondering if you guys can help me out, this may be a stupid question and I apologize but, I just purchased a new K&N air filter for my 2000 300EX. Question is when I install it does it go in by itself or do I put the factory metal filter inside of it first. By the factory metal filter I mean the inner filter the foam factory filter goes over. Thanks in advance....

just use the k&n by itself

yep, its ready to be put right in. They come pre-oiled. Just stick it inside the boot and tighten the radiator clamp:)

Thanks guys!!! I just wanted to make sure, the metal inner filter does not appear to fit but its always better to be safe and ask!!

yea i took that crappy metal thing out of mine
