hey guys, well title says it all. one of the long bolts on the head cover of my 400ex stripped out. the bolt tightens down into the top of the cylinder. is there anyway i can restore the threads without having to rip the top of my motor off. can i reverse tap the bottom somehow with keeping the same direction of the threads. any tips or ideas are well appreciated. thanks friends

You can drill it and use a helicoil kit on it. You can get them at your local ace hardware or fastenall company.

yea i know i can do that, i already have a heilicoil kit for those size bolts, but that requires tearing the motor down. is there anything i can do before that. can i run the tap threw the bottom without reversing the threads?
