Getting ready to order my HRC kit for my 06 450R wondering if there are any tips on the installation of this. How hard is it. I build all my own two stroke motors but havent been inside of a 450 yet just curious as to what im up against. Thanks for any info

How much gain you getting doing this? I am surprised this would be equivalent to an HRC kit since your solution doesn't change the valve lift on intake or exhaust, doesn't modify the RPM limit, change the timing curve, or supply a new needle to keep the mid-range jetting correct.

Agree with previous post. For aprox. $350 you get a cam, carb parts, head pipe and gaskets, replacement for the sparky, new clamps for the head pipe guard, cdi plug in for timing and rev limit advance and great instructions for installation. Is also warranteed by honda for 6 months if installed by dealer or three months or the remainder of the original 6 mo warranty whichever is less. Quad runs the way honda would like if not for epa.

LOL!!!
I would love to see some pics of you retarding the exhaust cam 1 tooth on the 450R...

There is only 1 cam in the 450R...hence the name UNICAM.

hrc kit is the only way to go just make sure you put locktight back on the cam sprocket bolts+decompreser bolt

The kit doesn't come with any since they vary from motor to motor but most installs won't require different ones from stock anyway.

They're a few bucks apeice. Just find a dealer who stocks all sizes and see what you need once you're into the motor.
