I just found a real good deal on a used 04 450r, were there any real reliability problems with the 04's?

They had crank bearing failures. I have an 04 450r and I have not had one single problem with it and I run it hard but just make sure you change your oil!

The '05s were known for the crank bearing problem, not the '04s.

Correct me if I am Wrong both the 04-05 had crank bearing failures.

no, just the 05's had bearing problems. if the o4's had any it was due to lack of oil changes and hard abuse
