Im trying to figure out if I should buy this set of spindles from a member on here , they look to be in good condition however on the shaft of the spindle they appear different like they are for 2 different years . He sais that they came off an 88 and worked fine . Could anyone post a pic of what a matching set of 88 or 89 spindles looks like ? Or even just let me know if they should be identical on the shaft or one different from the other

they will not work together.....you would have to run different front hubs on the correct spindle, and the hubs are totally different. if i remeber correctly the center spacer for the bearings(88-89) will not work in 86 hubs.

they must identical

one look like the 86 one (4 big bearings all the same)
other one is like the 88-89 style (2 small and 2 big bearings)

One is an 88 the other is an 89. 86-87 spindles had a bolt on tab for the tie rod. The spindles pictured are one cast piece.

rich you forgot to tell them that they will work together but he needs 88-89 hubs(can be same year hubs)

if you look at the spindle shafts you will notice both areas of wear, so regardless of the angled shaft and the 90 degree cut shaft, there might be a couple grams of difference between them but if your not to worried you can use them

not trying to take anyones' business, however I know a guy who has a set of spindals that are 89 style ( I think) I know they look like the one on the left. They are just sitting in his garage, I'll see what he wants for them.

hey my 89 has both kinds on it as shown... if it comes with a spacer for the tapered one (spacer goes inbetween the bearings in the hub) then you can use it with normal 89 hubs. the tapered shaft ones are the better design and have less stress on the bearings so if you can get 2 of them do so.

they are not 86-87 spindles.....they have the bolt on ears as stated before...but I don't think I've ever seen 88-89 together...but I would say one is an 88 the other may be an 89....but I thought the 88 and 89 used the same hubs as a 400EX....and 400EX looks like the one on the left......

Hey Chris you should of traded me the spindles and hubs a while ago for those parts huh
