Is it normal for my 300ex's ignition to make a "backfire" sound when I turn it off?

the igniton makes a pop? if so can you explain in better detail? or does it just backfire when you shut it off?

It just makes the noise when I hit the kill switch. It sounds like a click kinda noise(hard to explain).
