To begin, I tried doing a search on this topic but only came up with irrelevant threads.

As much as I hate to admit it, my snowmobiling season is now coming to an end. Which means I'll be taking the quad out this week.
I was wondering what needs to be done as far as maintenance, tune ups go. I didn't do anything before putting it away for the winter. There's barely any riding time on it after making my last oil change. Would new oil be necessary? I started it a couple times in november/december. However, I fear the battery might have died on me since then.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Oh, I have a 2005 400ex (if that changes anything).

Thanks in advance.

You probaly don't need to do anything. Check the air box to make sure no cridders got in there and filled it up with stuff (seeds, nesting material etc).

For the first 2 years I had mine I didn't do anything really(not that would effect starting it). Never even charged the battery until this year when I left the lights on...

i would drain the gas and clean the carb. oil should be fine. i'd imagine your chain isn't that well lubed anymore either.

X2 on checking for animals and bug nests.

If I were you I'd change the oil anyway. You can't change it too much.
